The BEAT is a free arts and entertainment guide for the whole family, focused on South Central Colorado and the Upper Arkansas River Valley. We cover communities from Colorado Springs to Buena Vista & Salida; Cañon City to Pueblo & LaVeta, and 16* other communities in our region.

Our arts and entertainment coverage cements our position as the region’s leading arts and entertainment publication. It is the guide that the community can turn to for information on who’s performing, where, and what events are planned for the area.
THE BEAT features: a Monthly Calendar of Activities and Events for each community; a column devoted to creative writing: “The Writers’ Beat”; feature stories on music, art or artists; a column on area travel: “Off the Beaten Path”; Festival, Concert, Hiking, Theater, event information and more. Editorial content may change in response to the seasons and to arts and entertainment offerings in our coverage area.
THE BEAT is a controlled-circulation tabloid with 5,000 copies distributed free each month June – September. We distribute 4,000 copies free on the first of each month of publication, October/November – April/May. Our circulation includes over 150 locations in high-traffic retail locations. These include restaurants, taverns, hotels, motels, BnBs, coffee shops, galleries, Visitors’ Centers, and other public places. The Beat is published 8 times a year with monthly editions, June through September, and double editions for October/November, December/January, February/March and April/May.
THE BEAT’S target audience consists of residents and tourists who are looking for places to go and things to do–from family events and hiking, to art shows, live music, dancing and nightlife in our coverage area.
